Connect is presented with cloudlike starting points and a pile of circles on the floor. This unfinished aesthetic, combined with the artist statement, aims at engaging the viewer and initiating the building process, transforming the passive viewer into an active participant.
Site-specific to the unused space underneath the stairs in G-Block, it activates this space with not only the finished artwork but also the presence of the participants. Connect attempts to translate the digital infrastructure into an analogue object. It is a celebration of the in-person networking this symposium offers and a reminder that our analogue human interactions are the essence of all networks and as essential as our digital connectedness.
