Susan Jowsey and Marcus Williams,Corticosteroid from the series Imaginary Bodies, 2007, digital print. Imaginary Bodies derives from the idea that the human body, locus of the most vital and intimate experiences, is tainted by culturally defined and highly mediated preconceptions. Photographs of the artists’ skin are mapped onto digitally constructed forms, which are then subject to a range of mutations.
